Miss Lyrika Bell

Vital Stats

Sex: Female

Date of Birth: 13th September 2009.

Nicknames: Lyrik.

Origin of Name: 'Lyrika' just seemed like a vaguely musical name. Her mother is named after a member of a band, and her grandfather's name is Fiddle, so something musical sounding seemed fitting. 'Bell,' as well as sticking with the musical theme, was named after my friend Arabella, who introduced me to her sister, Cassie, who bred Lyrik.

Description: Lyrik is a topaz hooded rat.

Origin: Lyrik was bred by a good friend of mine, Cassie. Her mother, Flea, is the daughter of Cassie's very first rat, Sure. Her father, Rodney, was an RSPCA rescue.

Bio

I first met Lyrik when she was only hours old, a little naked pink thing. I saw her several times during her first few weeks, and witnessed her growing up and developing her own personality. She was the sweetest of her litter, and much more likely to sleep while her sister and cagemate, Psych, was exploring. Unfortunately for her, Psych liked to use her head as a stepping stone to new places to explore, so she never got to sleep for long.

Lyrika is now the gentlest of the pair. She carefully explores my face with her nose and whiskers. She enjoys custard and sleeping in my shirt. She loves her playtime and begs adorably to come out if she sees me nearby. Impossible to resist!

Tales

Blueberries
Lyrik loves blueberries. So do I, for that matter. I like them frozen. Imagine Lyrik's indignation as she realised, one day, that I was eating blueberries and not sharing. She performed amazing acrobatics trying to get to me - flying leaps to my chair, using Psychie as a springboard, scaling the blinds. I had to give in and give her free access to the punnet. She got the most incredibly blissful look on her face as she bit down into the first one. She proceeded to help herself to the rest of the punnet, peeling the skins off and leaving them all over me.

Earring Thief
I'm not sure why, but Lyrik has an obsession with earrings. No other jewellry, just earrings. She loves to jump over to my bedside table and conduct earring raids on the jewellry box. She steals them and hides them in my pillowcase.
