Bio

Kristen offered Spyro to me in June 2010. He was almost a year at the time, and was a big sookie boy. I have a soft spot for chubby rats and I've always loved the blue coat, so I was eager to bring Spyro home! He now lives happily with five girlies (he's neutered) and happily eats any treats he can get his paws on. Spyro is a rat who loves to eat, and he'll camp out at the food bowl until it is empty. He is also much lazier than his lady friends, and won't get up without a good reason! Spyro loves to sleep on top of the pile in the hammock, and he enjoys porridge and beef and veggie baby food more than anything.

Tales
Hurricane Ratcage

I've only recently got back from vacation in the USA. One of the first things I did upon arriving home was fetch the rats from their babysitter (my friend Cassie, thanks Cass!). I got the cage set up and tossed the rats back into it while I started hanging hammocks and so forth. The girls went wild - racing up and down, sniffing everything, jumping on my hands, trying to steal the hammock hooks, etc. Spyro, on the other hand, curled himself up in the middle of the cage floor and went to sleep. And there he stayed. The girls were bounding over him, stepping on him, knocking into him, and he just tucked his nose in further. Nothing was going to interrupt this man rat during naptime! I affectionately dubbed him the calm in the middle of the storm.
